La Wanda Dyson White is an associate in the Toxic Tort Product Liability Practice Group in the Philadelphia office of Lavin, O’Neil, Ricci, Cedrone & DiSipio. She is national, regional, and local counsel for major automotive and truck manufacturers, specialist cable manufacturer and telecommunications companies in product liability cases.

Mrs. Dyson White assists with all aspects of the defense of asbestos litigation files which includes: filing of initial pleadings, propounding and responding to discovery, conducting depositions, preparing and responding to pretrial motions and memoranda, strategizing on legal positions, trial preparation and attendance at trial.

Examples of Mrs. Dyson White’s legal experience include:

  • In Dennis Robinson v. Freightliner, et al. (April 2006), served as local counsel in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas for trial counsel from Washington State. Conducted jury selection and assigned by trial counsel to conduct the cross examination of both fact and expert witnesses.
  • Successfully argued against a Motion for Reconsideration (September 2005) before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Ann G. McCormick.

Additionally, Mrs. Dyson White regularly serves as an Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas (2007-present). She is a current committee member on the Young Lawyers, Diversity and Toxic Tort Committees within the DRI organization.

Mrs. Dyson White graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she was on the Dean’s List and was a Provost’s Scholar. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Dyson White was named as a Lawyer on the Fast Track in 2008 by The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly.

Mrs. Dyson White is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania state courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Within the firm, Mrs. Dyson White has been appointed by the Board of Directors to serve as Chair of the Diversity Committee. The committee is responsible for the hiring and retention of diverse lawyers. She also serves as mentor to the firm’s new associates.

PERSONAL

In her spare time, Mrs. Dyson White enjoys being a wife and mother of two (Khalil, 11 years-old; and the new addition to the family, Kailey, 4 months old). She is very active in the athletic club where her son plays basketball and football. She is also a founder and active member of her church, Bottom Line Revival Church.
